Wanted! Convention Volunteers!
A 60 strong team of volunteers from across the sector offered their services for the duration of IoF National Fundraising Convention in 2014. The event benefited greatly from their enthusiasm and commitment and the Institute of Fundraising is now recruiting volunteers for 2015.
What are the rewards?
- FREE ENTRY to all three days of Convention as well as meals (and accommodation where necessary).
- The opportunity to attend selected sessions on a range of fundraising topics and issues.
- Gaining valuable experience in team work and event management.
- Becoming an integral part of the largest fundraising event in Europe.
PLEASE NOTE: Unless agreed in advance of accepting the volunteer role, volunteers are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from the venue.
What does volunteering involve?
Volunteers will be asked to work on a voluntary basis for three and a half days from Sunday 5th July to Wednesday 8th July 2015. With over 2,500 attendees across the three days, there is a lot to be done, both in front of and behind the scenes, and volunteers carry out a number of vital duties in partnership with Institute staff. These include speaker liaison, registration, managing sessions, promoting membership, assisting delegates and much more.
When and how can I apply?
Apply now! The opportunity to make an application for volunteering at the 2015 National Fundraising Convention will be available until 5pm on Monday 6th April 2015.

Please only apply by submitting the online application form if you are certain that you can commit to volunteering for the full duration, from lunchtime on Sunday 5th July to early evening of Wednesday 8th July 2015 on a 24 hour basis. Applicants that cannot commit to all of these dates will not be considered. Please note that volunteer places cannot be shared or carried over to the following year. Should you have any queries in relation to applying to become a volunteer, please email IoFconvention@institute-of-fundraising.org.uk prior to submitting your application. Applications from small charities, whose representatives may otherwise be unable to afford to attend will receive priority, but please note that this does not guarantee you a place. In 2014 we had five applications for every one volunteer place, so please ensure you give sufficient detail in your application form.
